True story. I don't live in my classroom and forage for food along King Road. I don't obsessively check my email, either, or sit at home and devise schemes to make students' lives miserable. I'm a happily married mother of 2.5 (my son Henry, my angel baby Molly Rose, and my silver Labrador retriever called Lucy), and I relish every moment that I'm able to spend with them. I'm a 3rd generation graduate of the University of South Carolina (B.A. English) and a graduate of Augusta State University (M.A. Secondary English, Ed. S Curriculum and Instruction) where I met Jason, my husband (who works for General Electric). I've spent my career teaching English and/or social studies at Greenbrier High School (Evans, GA), Learning Unlimited Preparatory School (Sint Maarten, Netherland Antilles), Dutch Fork High School (Irmo, SC), and Webb Bridge Middle School. I'm an avid reader, an Anglophile, a budding gardener, a craft fanatic, and a lifelong fan of the fighting Gamecocks. I believe in honesty, in nerding out, in hard work, in failing miserably but learning resilience, in good-natured humor, in open-mindedness, in self-reliance, and that "Far and away the best prize that life has to offer is the chance to work hard at work worth doing," (Theodore Roosevelt).
